PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Australian-born Hollie McKay is the National Fox News Network Entertainment Reporter. Based in Los Angeles, Hollie can be spotted anywhere from red-carpet film premieres to Hollywood Club Openings to exclusive events and ceremonies. As the National Network now feeds to over 140 Fox Affiliates in over 80 countries, the expansion of Entertainment for the World's Leading Cable Channel means that a day in the life of Miss McKay is never dull. In addition to camera-based work, Hollie is the exclusive online entertainment columnist for FOXnews.com's POPTARTS.

Prior to landing what Hollie describes as her "dream job", the young journalist worked professionally as an on-air Hollywood correspondant for radio stations 2RE and MAXFM, a regular entertainment/fashion feature contributor for Sydney's stylish 9to5 Magazine and as a media spokesperson for five-star hotels on behalf of the Australian Hotels Association. Hollie has also worked professionally as an actress and has been able to develop her on-camera skills through numerous commercials, films and publications. Highlights include speaking roles in national commercials for Suncorp Insurance, KFC and Suntory in addition to the role of 'Holly' in the BBC mini-series Blackjack alongside 'The Castle's' Sophie Lee and 'The Man Who Sued God' Colin Friels. She has appeared as a special guest on The Footy Show, Sunrise, MTV and Fox Sports. A dancer at heart, Hollie also spent several seasons as a professional cheerleader for NRL teams Manly Sea Eagles and for the Russell Crowe-owned club South Sydney Rabbitohs while fulfilling her contract at a National choreographer and spokesmodel for Jim Beam Brands Australia.

Hollie is also currently used as a figurehead for aspiring journalists with Australia's leading recruitment site Career One and will be featured in a chapter in an upcoming Journalism journal to be released later this year.

Hollie has recently established wardrobe sponorship with one of the world's leading fashion distributors bestswimwear.com and is currently supplied by Alterna Hair's Caviar Range, the Palm Beach Way and 3LAB skincare.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Hollie was raised in a small town amid the Hunter Valley, New South Wales Australia as the youngest of two girls. A performer and writer throughout her childhood Hollie’s first novel 'Sworn to Secrecy' was published by Seaview Press at the age of thirteen. Hollie went on to pass with honours the Cecchetti Classical Ballet major examination and Trinity College of London high grades in Effective Speaking and Individual Acting Skills. Her contribution to arts was recognised on Australia Day, 2004 when she was awarded the Cultural Community Youth Award and Young Citizen of the Year by the Lord Mayor.

In order to pursue her passion for perfoming while still achieving academically, Hollie moved to Sydney and spent her high school years as a border at the prestigious performing arts insitution The McDonald College. In her graduate year Hollie was Head Border, Senior Prefect and Dux (equivalent to Valedictorian) with UAI 99.25, placing her within the top .5% of the nation in both academic and performance studies. After abanoning her initial dream to become a professional ballerina due to injury, Hollie accepted an offer to study an advanced Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a specialisation in Media Arts & Production at the University of Technology, Sydney. Throughout her degree Hollie maintained honorary results with a distinction (GPA 4) average in all areas.

Hollie also recieved a scholarship to further her education in a Study Abroad program in New York City where she first established her Fox affiliation as a Fall Intern.
